In nearly every (a)RPG I try to actually play a character to the top, or at least close to the top, before I start another one. I want to keep the game fresh and still have something new to do for as long as possible. That said, nearly every time I fail miserably and I end up playing everything that's available within two weeks of buying the game. In WoW I have about 40 different characters. I really need some self-restraint in this.
So to answer your question, I will most likely try to play one to the top (I'm leaning more and more towards starting with the Monk) but in the end, I won't and will level all classes simultaneously.

When people tell me "plz" just because it's shorter than 'please', I feel perfectly justified to answer 'No' because it's shorter than 'Yes'.
And the Lord said unto Carl: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'. But Carl came fifth and won a toaster.
I plan to go 1 to 60 with a WD first, but that probably won't happen as I tend to switch characters when I clear Normal. At least that's what I ultimately did in D2.
Without PvP though there's less reason to get to know all the characters in and out as quickly as possible, so I may just take my time with my WD.
At first I was like - Barb all the way! to 60+ (till I die); ... well let me back track - 1-10 with a random; then start HC - ... Ive been eyeing the wizard here and like what I see. So might play each one back and forth ... or heck maybe a few classes; will be playing HC anyways - so I presume eventually Ill bite the dust on something ...
Going to play a full run through without looking at any spoliers thou ...
I'm planning to play HC from start unless my friends with tourettes starts playing aswell. My plan was was make one of each class and keep 4 on roughly same progress and one as relevel project when previous of the same class dies.
Reasoning for this is that I'm not so frustated of losing high lvl chater as I got another one thats similarly progressed.

I can't decide. :/
I'll probably play through all of Normal as one class unless I start to not have fun playing with that class. I'll certainly make placeholder/mule characters from the start, too. Gotta cache goodies for when I start my next char after all.
After that... who knows? There are too many possibilities with a game like this for me to say for sure.
I will start with WD and DH at the same time and level them up. I'll stick with one of them once I research more about game mechanics, affixes and such.
I don't think I'll go to HC but I'll keep a track of my deaths in SC. I'll probably record every second of gameplay also.
My battle tag is ImTheReal and the hero's name will be Slim Shady, obviously.
Oh, and my exams start on 18th of May, so thanks, Blizzard.
I'm not too sure yet. I'll have to see how I feel when I actually play the game. I'd like to take my WD all the way to 60 before starting the other classes, but I may also play beat Normal with each class before taking my WD to 60.
I also plan to play one character (the wiz) through normal, that way I can get a look at most of the content. then the urge to try out stuff that dropped for other characters will be too strong and I'll have to go back and start leveling other characters. probably in this order Barb, Monk, DH, WD. At that point What's most fun and/or what I find the best gear for will be the character I try and level to 60 first.
One straight to the top when soloing. One character simultaneously for each group of friends I have. So mostly the first one, probably.
I'll be sticking with one char (barb) to the top, or at least to a very high level. If I get a lot of good gear for a Demon Hunter or something I'll probably roll one of them just to have some fun and see some variety.
