First let me say thank you to everyone on this board for answering my questions on my precious post. You all are amazing!
Ok, I'm currently running a Nvidia 8800 Gts. In playing the beta I could definitely see video lagging, I know it's the beta and it lagged for everyone, but I could tell the graphic lags from the load lags. In playing Start Trek Online I had huge graphical lags too.
Anyways I need a recommendation for a new card. Ideally I don't want to spend over $100. Thoughts? I could break the $100 budget by $30-$40, If it meant a world of difference and future proofing.
Current Setup:
CPU Type: Intel Core2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz
Total RAM: 8191.1 MB.
DESCRIPTION: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
For 100$? That's not really future proofing. For 140$?

Would cover the bill for reasonable framerate on most modern games. Should allow you to max out Diablo 3 unless you are an "MUST HAVE 1203912032193018x AA" junkie.
Though, you might run into an annoying hiccup of having to upgrade your power supply, which can set you back another 50-100$. Also, (enforced) sale tax might rear it's ugly head in, dunno if Michigan has to deal with it.
Oh, also, you should ask a mod to move this here:

I was able to run the beta at almost max graphics in a 4 player game at 60 fps with this card:
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series 1 GB.
It costs MUCH less than $100 if they still even sell it. Anything that's better than this will probably be able to run D3 at max graphics.
The load lag you're talking about looks like it's getting fixed for retail (everybody experienced it, except people with SSD harddrives).
Also, get ATI instead of Nvidea.
Agreed, the GTX 460 is a good choice if you only want to spend $140. The 6850 is another close runner up, though I default to recommending the 460 because of Blizzard's recent fubars with catalyst driver 12.4 and the recent price drop of the 460.
If you want some choices, check out the tomshardware roundups, though they will come out with a May report shortly:
$100 and under: (really this is a $75 tie between the 440 and 6670)

$100 to $170:

What's the almost part? 9800 GT seems comparable to that card, and physics effects absolutely killed my framerate.I was able to run the beta at almost max graphics in a 4 player game at 60 fps with this card:
I run a GTX460 (an older EVGA version), and it has been quite good. It's the first card i've had in my machine that required power inputs. Framerates of 90-100-140 when i'm on my own. Never really paid attention to 4 player FPS.
where the hell are u guys looking at?
you can get a GTX460 for $100, until May 9th that is. http://bit.ly/tigerdirectGTX460

That's with rebate. God knows how long that will take.
uh it takes 8 days if u choose the priority option with just $2 fee. I've done so many rebates before it's not dat bad. you just have to remember to send it.
