When was the last time you were as hyped about a game as Diablo 3? o

The thread about whether Diablo 3 could live up to it's hype got me thinking about other games in the past that had me hyped. I've been hyped about games several times in my gaming career, but there have only been a few that stand out when I think about it now. These were games that I would follow almost daily and of which I would read and watch everything I could find. Games that made the wait for release agonizing and the day you got them into your hands pure bliss.

So what game in the past had you as excited or more so, as you are now about D3? I'm curious to see whether the games named here will be recent or very old indeed. This would give a nice indication of how hyped exactly people are about D3.

For me, the last time I was looking forward to a game as much as with D3 now was with Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. It's still probably my favourite RTS. What was yours?

The only other time I was that hyped about a game was with Diablo II.

Nothing has had me as hyped as D3, not even remotely close. I was pretty hyped for Battlefield 3 because I was such a huge BF1942 fan, but that hype quickly dissipated once I got the game and played it... =(

I was more hyped for CoD4 than I am for D3

I think its because of all the bad changes made.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Starcraft 2, Kid Icarus Uprising, Sonic Generations.

I don't think anything reach Diablo 3 hype heights for me. Generally not focusing that much on information about games before they release - other than noting their existence and looking forward to them.
Some of the earlier WoW expansions got high, but still on a much smaller scale and time-frame (much shorter time between announcement and release).

Blizzard has been friendly enough to dampen my excitement over time with stupid design decisions, but it hasn't been enough.

StarCraft 2 was the last time I was this hyped. Honestly, I don't play many games, but those that I do play, I get very excited about .

What's interesting is that I'm a much bigger SC fan than I was a Diablo fan, but I think I'm more hyped for D3 than I was for SC2.

Dungeon keeper 2 which was a little bit of a disappointment at first but then I got into the multiplayer and found it was twice the fun.I've only been moderately hyped by sequels of other games since.I could however get that level if some other games had sequels that haven't.

Just Diablo III, didn't care for skyrim, call of duty 3, MW3, etc. etc. I always asked stores about Diablo III. The gamestop down the street knows my face and when I come in, they always say yea, no news on diablo 3 release date yet, or, yea, we are having a midnight launch.

Not as much, but I was pretty hyped for global agenda when it was coming out.
