Interesting...
Auctions for commodities can be cancelled at any time. There are no fees for cancelling an auction in either case.
http://us.battle.net/support/en/arti...-functionality
items are the same as in the beta; up to 5m after posting u can cancel.
Since you can't bid on commodities, it makes sense to be able to cancel them.
What happens if someone bids on an item you posted before the 5 minutes are up? Or does the item simply not actually get listed for bidding before the 5 minutes are up?
And the undercuto-bots can go rampart once again..
Who else will be able/willing to sit at the AH 24/7 and relist up to 10 items per account, every <5mins? Bots will..
And no fee/delay/penalty for relisting gold on the RMAH.. BAM! Insta-undercut bonanza. All it takes is 10 bots on a rotation. Duh..
Would be surprised if anyone not using simmilar methods will be able to make more than 15$/month once all the bots are deployed..
If you list stuff for their true market value you will not be undercut. Undercutting can only happen when you're trying to rip people off by selling too high. There's a limit to how low an item price can go, because once it goes any lower, people will just buy it all out instantly (or relatively quickly).
That would be all nice and dandy, but you are forgetting that the RMAH demand will be LIMITED.
As long as the undercuto-bots have stock, they will insta-undercut, as it doesn't matter the slightest bit for how much they sell - as long as they sell, because their supply will most probably be alot larger than all demand.
However, this goes mostly for gold and stackables.. With items it could take quite a bit longer (or not happen at all) till they continually have more stock than total demand.
We will see...
Once you cut low enough, you sell everything. Unless you reach the point where it's so cheap it's not even worth the time it takes to click on the auction house button. That's how markets work.
When I was playing the beta, none of my stuff showed up for sale while the 5 minute counter was ticking. After the 5 minutes were up, then I saw my item in the list of stuff for sale (at the price I asked for). This way, you cannot bid on an item that has the 5 minute counter, because it doesn't show up in the auction listings yet.
