What the heck are those guys doing that drops my life so far. I am playing a zeal paladin quite a bit lately I can literally walk into uber trist and just kill whoever comes to me first indiscriminately and life tap, bo and my super high defense keeps my life orb nearly full the entire time but those guys drop me to a sliver of life in like 2 hits and they are only in act 3. They only get me every now and then but I cannot figure out how their attacks are hurting so bad.
I believe that their explosion damage is equal to their full life total and not a percentage. I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended.
Someone please confirm that that is correct.
i once wiped out almost an entire baal-run by dropping a Death Sentry in a throne room full of stygian dolls and champ stygian dolls.
one of them died, the DS started corpse exploding, all other stygians died, resulting explosion took out said pubby baal run.
i actually survived that one thanks to claw-block and the insane iDR i was packing at the time.
That would be the ultimate 'prank'. Ultimate. Lol
The stygian has a "charge" skill that always hits iirc. And if you survive that, the explosion on death does a lot of dmg aswell.
Their normal attacks arent scary. Id get more physical resistance %.
And since they are undead, only lifetaps lifeleech works.

My only two HC losses have been to those little &*&^&s. As Archone says, it's usually a two-hit deal. On both occasions I took the first hit, then my Merc kindly killed it right next to me causing the explosion to kill me. The whole thing happened in a fraction of a second, and though neither of my chars were tanks, one of them had over 1K life. As soon as I hear the bony clatter of those little feet now I try to spam ranged attacks and stay away from my Merc. They're about the only thing that scare me when using a summoning necro (well, those and gloams with conviction auras....).
Gloams with conviction... yay!
