Hello,
I am new to D2 and have recently started a necro, I am just reaching clvl 14 and playing with /players 8;
I spend most of my time going from-back base camp to sell valuable item in orderr to try to gamble for 60K+ items,
I was wondering if this was a sound strategy enough, are there any tips about gambling ( a friend of em told me for example that it was more optimal to gamble at lvl 9 rather than, say lvl 11 because of proba linked to clvl )
I have a life regen amulet and somewhat powerful wand, would it make sense to sell everything just in order to gamble for an expensive item or should i instead buy that identified 50K necro staff giving +4 necro skills and other bonuses ?
I am also using 2 gold % increase ring, is it something rly useful ?
Thanks

Moved.
For starters, gold is easy to find, so easy that equipping gear specifically with extra gold find is in fact a waste of an item mod.
I presume the wand you are talking about does not give +4 to all skills? That would be a little overkill at your level. It depends on which skill the wand increases: if it's a skill you are using a lot, that's always a good wand.
About gambling: I usually only gamble if I want to have a specific item or if I can't seem to find anything good for a certain slot. For instance, usually whenever I get my rogue mercenary, I gamble for a long bow (because long bows tend to get the most damage output at the lowest level). I don't go out of my way to gamble, but if you have a steady gold supply, then sure, who knows what you will find? There's some good rares to be found with gambling. I wouldn't sell everything to gamble for items, what if you end up with worse gear than you had and no money to get new?

When people tell me "plz" just because it's shorter than 'please', I feel perfectly justified to answer 'No' because it's shorter than 'Yes'.
And the Lord said unto Carl: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'. But Carl came fifth and won a toaster.
Life regen and goldfind rings/ammies are good for one thing early game: selling.
You should really be aiming to get resists/magic find/whatevs from these slots early on.

Read this. It's aimed towards single pass play, so it's a bit extreme but has a lot of info - also about gambling.
