I dunno if this question is techy enough but it doesn't seem "Interesting" enough for OT
When I got my new place a couple of years ago I knew I wanted some fast fibreoptic broadband and as I looked around there was one company that did free line setup / install, which was good for me as I needed that and it was expensive from some providers. I went for 30meg as it was only slightly more expensive than 10meg. Then a few months ago they doubled the speed, luckily I was in an area that was being trialed or something, the only majorly populated area they chose I think, so apparently I get 60meg now (the 30meg connection was always bang on but the new doubled speed seems a bit more inconsistent, 45-60 usually). Only about 3meg uplaod but that doesn't matter to me as far as I know. Low ping, but it seems a bit variable, goes from 10 usually to 100 when it's bad.
The expense of telephone calls on my landline is horrific, I just stick to mobile usually as I get enough minutes on that so it works out ok as I'd be paying mobile charges anyway.
30Mbits, perfect for my needs, usually the servers can't reach that speed anyway, but at least i can download while watching a movie on netflix at max quality without buffering
My 600KB/s feels so bad for your 3MB/s........
I have a 10/10Mbit VDSL2 housing broadband connection, first 3months was free and after that 11$![]()
I am at 32 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
100 Mbps download but crappy 6 Mbps upload.
25Mbps down
Speedtest usually gives me around 20Mbps down / 2Mbps up. Max download speed is 2.5MBps. Fully satisfied with it.![]()
