Does anyone know the exact formulas for how Hatred and Discipline are generated?
I think it is 4 and 1 per second passive regeneration respectively + whatever you have from gear and skills.
Yes. Doesn't change with level either.
So killing stuff and doing damage doesn't generate hatred and discipline? Unless you are using skills that are hatred generators.
No. There is the passive skill vengeance that gives 20 hatred and 2 disc when you are healed by health globe. Then there are some skills and affixes that grant you a passive hatred regen boost per second basis.
There is also gear that grants +hatred generation and +max discipline. There will probably be other affix's as well for dh resources. Between levels 1-13 from the open beta you could already get gear with +1 discipline and + .5 hatred generation. Imagine hell and inferno gear.
But the base regeneration is
Hatred 4
Discipline 1

Yes. Per second.
It's re-post time.
Without items and passives your base Hatred / Discipline pool is 125 / 30, with a regen of 4 / 1 per second.
With items at level 60, you can increase your Hatred regen to potentially 8 per second and your maximum Discipline to 75. Your Hatred pool and Discipline regen cannot be modified with items.
However, with the Vengeance passive it's possible to increase your maximum Hatred by 25.
The Templar's Inspire buff also increases Hatred regen by 1.
What this means is that you can sustain a Hatred / Discipline pool of 150 / 75 and a regen of 9 / 1 per second at level 60.
You can increase these numbers further for a limited duration with certain active effects.
Add the bat companion for 3 extra hatred regen. Also it's possible that the affixes never make it in the release version in their current incarnation.
