    Help please

First off id like to say im a big fan of the site, i may have just signed up but ive been viewing this site pretty much daily to get my d3 updates for quite a while now. So to start id like to thank everyone who runs and contributes to the site.

Now my problem is i didn't have a comp that could run the game so i've been trying to save $ in order to get a system that could run the game, even if its on the lowest settings. Ok so i just purchased an asus laptop with a 2nd gen i3 processor and 4GB RAM and 500GB HD, the problem is it has intergrated intel graphics. I just want to know if I'll be able to run the game on this machine or if i should return it while i could and get a different one. When I uploaded my specs everything checked out besides the gfx because it came up as on 64MB, however the max gfx mem for this laptop is 1969MB which I know would be enough. So I'd like to know if theirs some way to dedicate more mem to the gfx or if it just adjusts itself as needed, and if it does just adjust itself as needed will it run the game even though now its telling me i wouldn't be able to?

Now if you think i wont be able to run the game even on min settings can someone please suggest a system i could get for around 450$ that can. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanx.

heres a link to the laptop i got with the specs if needed http://laptopstops.com/notebook/asus...eo-review.html

If you want to go for integrated graphics on a budget, you really don't want intel, but instead the AMD APUs, they are like 3 times as good for graphics. Look for cpus named A4 or A6 or A8. Get the highest A number you can afford .

    Re: Help please

I used that site and passed everything on minimum and recommended except for "dedicated video RAM" under the video card section. it says the game requires 256MB but my video cards is 64MB. But I know that the card is able to use 64MB-1696MB I just don't know how to dedicate more mem to the video card or if it just does it automatically when needed. it also says "Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card" so does that mean it would pass if it wasn't using the min attributes?

Thanks for the advice about AMD, i'd allways used intel so when i was shopping around i didnt know what AMD systems were comparable to the Intel systems. I'm really hopeing the game will work on this system but if not i'll keep that in mind when looking to exchange it.

    Thanks for the help

Well if I was you I'd get the AMD in a heartbeat, as they are build to do what you hope the laptop will do.

If you're buying a computer on a budget, you will ALWAYS do better for your money with a desktop than a laptop... and then you can upgrade it gradually as needed. Just sayin

    Re: Help please

I know a desktop would give me better value for my money but i was really hopeing to be able to run it on a laptop. Worst case senario I'll end up getting a desktop if this system doesn't work out (which it seems like it won't) and if I can't find a different laptop in my price range that meets the specs. If I do exchange this one I'll definitly be going more towards an AMD set up since they're more in line with what I'm looking to get out of it. Do you think I'd be able to run it on this system http://deals.bestbuy.com//hottest+ne...+drive++pewter ?
Its got AMD Dual-Core A4-3305M Accelerated Processor with AMD Radeon HD 6480G discrete-class graphics
AMD Radeon HD 6480G discrete-class graphics
Feature up to 2037MB total video memory for lush images. HDMI output for connection to an HDTV.

Thanks for the help and suggestions guys

Yep, that laptop with the AMD should play great on low/medium settings.
I'd return your laptop and purchase the AMD. intergrated intel graphics just are not good enough for diablo 3

The laptop you have now might run 30fps on lowest settings, but to be honest if you want to play you need a real 3d card that can do 60+ fps at least.

I have intergrated intel graphics on my dell laptop with a discrete nvidia 525m card. Beta runs at 70fps on low, but beta is not otimized and performace will be much better in release.

Thanks for the info, looks like I'm going to go with that system while its still on sale. Besides only haveing a 320GBHD everything else on it seems equal to or better than the system I have now.

    Re: Help please

its way better because of the AMD 3D card, you need more storage just buy an external usb hard drive.
That system should run on low at 70fps but you might need to lower the screen res as that laptop is 1600x900 with a 17" display thats a lot of pixels to fill with a low end amd card.
