A feature I'd really like to see...

A collector's book feature showing all the legendary (unique) items you've found along your travels. Once you find it, it makes an entry in your record to show you've picked up that item - and includes the stats for that item. If you havent found the item yet, its just shown as a blank page, or perhaps is greyed out with a very rough outline of the item, just as a teaser.

Sort of gives an extra objective for the crazy obsessive collectors, who want to get hold of every item in the game, as well as a handy reference book for all the legendary items. I'd certainly like to be able to look and say I've found xx% of all the legendaries. It would also make it a little more rewarding to find the legendary items that you maybe arent going to use as you'd get an extra entry in your book.

Surely it wouldnt take up that much extra in terms of server space, all you need is to allocate each legendary item a 'page number' and just let the player get access to that page once theyve found that item.

Maybe a feature like this is in already but has passed me by?

What do you think... would this add a little bit to the game?

To be honest Blizzard could have gone much further with their "lore book". They kinda hinted toward it early in development but it didnt end up like this.

Would also have been neat with bestiary pages for every enemy, with more and more details about them the more you killed (Diablo 1 style).

this would be awesome for collectors like me. it would need to include set items also. it would also need an option to choose what version or the legendary/set item you wish to save for the records. if you find legendary mace of smashy goodness then find another you should be able to pick what roll gets saved to the lore book. thats probably asking too much though

Very good idea, would like something like this too! Maybe it could tell you how many of each set/legendary has dropped for you too! I would be ok if it didnt show the stats of the item you found, but if it just kept track of your grail for you and how many of said item you've found would be nice!

Can see it now.. 1 x 10^1093839 green breast plates found.. Heck, maybe you could put an achievement on finding your 10,000th green breast plate haha. An achievement for filling out the book would be mandatory too! You should post your idea on battle.net page if you haven't yet!

I like this idea. I also really liked applying this idea to a Bestiary - similar to how Castlevania does it. I know they have Abd Al Hazir, or whatever his name is, but I posted about this feature about 2 years ago.

I like this idea very much. Maybe also have a possibility to 'store' up to 10 best rares in the book (according to your own wishes). Then when you click on another player you could see their book, look up what crazy rares they've found.

do you mean counting how many mobs you have killed? this was one feature from d1 i really wanted to see in d3

What would be even better is if they would add a room with a bunch of weapon/armor racks where you can display them.
