Necromancer spirit lives on in the WD.
I think the WD has the most diverse tool set of all of the characters. The number of completely different ways to play him feels higher than every other class, and so I can see him generating the most chatter as a result.
I wanted to play the Wizard first but after open beta, the WD was so much fun. So I will decide when I click on a character on 5/15/12, wherever the mouse pointer goes![]()
I think because WD is least generic class D3 has to offer.
Everyone I talk to has said they are going to be playing WD on release.
I personally will be.
And my Barb will be my 2nd character.. I think that should be just as much, if not maybe more fun. I guess we will see after Lv13.. Maybe some people will find that the more you level your WD, the more CC comes in, instead of overleveling stuff in the beta, and they will get overwhelmed and then we will see Monks and Barbs shoot up for 30% dmg reduction :o
A slight bit of mini-necroing, but I just had to point this out.
At the time of this post, the numbers of viewers on the forums looks like this:
Barbarian (45 viewing)
Demon Hunter (53 viewing)
Monk (60 viewing)
Witch Doctor (130 viewing)
Wizard (33 viewing)
Wow. That's the biggest discrepancy I think I've seen yet @_@. I don't get how WDs can place so low on polls when they seem really popular on forums, including reddit from what I can tell.
I think this is because most of the diablo player base will roll a WitchDoctor as their second class. I do however feel as we draw nearer to launch that a lot of ppl are reconsidering on making WD their primary. I have a hunch that WD will be more popular than Wizard and DH alike, Joining the Monk as the second popular class.
Wow the most I've seen is something like 70 for WD and 30 for the other.
But I think it's maybe because people at first wasn't interested in the WD (because he's old and kinda ugly), and then when they looked further into this class with the class vids and all that stuff, they saw that he was amazing and changed their minds. That could explain that the WD had low scores in the old polls, yet now he seems so popular.
