Help with WW sin IAS

Hi.
I need help with my ww sin's ias.
I used a calculator to calculate my sin's IAS, but somehow it seems wrong...
My chaos does +40 ias as first weapon, and my fury does +35 as second. And Highlord's does +20. So when I put this all in the calculator (without BoS), it says I have max IAS for whirlwind... But when I tried ingame using whirlwind without burst of speed it seemed pretty slow and I am sure it got faster when I casted BoS. Why is that? The calculator said my sin doesn't need more IAS and even when I put in BoS it doesn't get faster in the calculator, but it does ingame? I was gonna use Fade when attacking, but if my whirlwind is slow without BoS, I'm not sure wheither to use BoS or Fade anymore....
(Please bare with me, I have never used IAS before, as I mostly play sorcs. And It's my first WW sin.)

EDIT: also... how do I increase my AR without adding more dex? I'm currently using 2 raven frosts, but my AR is only 5000 and I miss alot... My coa has 2 empty slots, is there a type of jewel or rune I should socket in it?
Also.... Is blade shield really effective? mine only lasts for 35 seconds and it doesnt seem very useful coz I always forget to cast it again... is the dmg really worth it?

Its simple, whirlwind only uses main weapon attackspeed. No other sources will increase your attackspeed!
Im not sure about BoS though, but it probably works aswell. Since you didnt hit your last breakpoint without it.

I would experiment with 2x Angelic rings +Angelic Amulet. That adds a TON of ar.

Blade shield fails. Hard. Period.
Honestly though, that skill is one of the worst ingame.

And regarding your CoA. If you considered using fade, then maybe you should socket it with Um runes? Or 15@ jwls?

Its simple, whirlwind only uses main weapon attackspeed. No other sources will increase your attackspeed!

To my knowledge, WW alternates between the weapons for speed considerations when dual-wielding. As long as there's is a monster in hit range, it will keep using the current weapon's speed, but if there is none in range, it will alternate to the other for the next hit frame of that weapon (and maybe check for the current attack frame, as the other weapon might have a greater range, I'm not sure about that). As all claws have the same range, it's probably better to reach the last speed breakpoint with both of them.

AFAIK, BoS increases speed like fanaticism (and like being frozen, slowed or decrepped decreases speed), so it won't speed up WW attacks. However, it probably increases your WW movement speed which might give you the illusion of making speedier attacks.

I can use BotD (60ias) as main and a Last Wish (no ias) on off hand. And changing LW for grief wont increase/decrease my attackspeed afaik.

Typical barb weapons have a big reach, so switching will occur more rarely, but claws have a reach of just 2.

BTW, the first two WW attack frames are always at 4 and 8, no matter how slow your weapons are, so if you make very short whirls, IAS isn't a matter anyway. That can work rather well in PvP (where there are further reasons to avoid long whirls), but in PvM you might not leech enough mana then.
