Hey guys, i've ran hell pits for about 50 runs already(with 0 mf) and still haven't found an eth CV(found reg ones/socketed) for insight. Is there any other place thats good?
Cows. Tons of drops because of the high monster density. Got a LF amazon?
BTW, you may already know this but, CV isn't necessarily the best choice for a base weapon - it's just that they're the only elite polearm with a max of 4 sockets, so getting a 4-socket one is generally easier to get because you can just use Larzuk to do the trick with the first eth CV you find.
But if you stumble across an eth Thresher/GPA/Cryptic Axe, they're worth a chance with the Ral + Amn + PAmethyst recipe too - 1/6 odds, but a potentially better base than the CV.

Yeah but the bad thing is im doing SP and im only lvl 82 bonemancer up to act 2(2.5-2.7k bone spear) and i wanted to buff my merc up since he keeps dying haha. I found an eth GPA but i don't have the PAmethysts since i don't find many flawless ammys...and yeah 1/6 chance too...
And speak of the devil, i just found 3 CV's normal in one run........now im not gonna find anymore soon =(
And yes, eth thresher, cryptic axe are good but its gonna be hard to find a eth + 4socket one...

The differences aren't that great from the act 1 Tower Cellar on, as well as high-level areas which are ancountered before (like Pits). Hell cows have the best drop chance and it's also densely populated, as said..

So you're SP. What were you hoping on doing with this eth CV? I assume you want to make Insight (since others' runes will be a much rarer than the base item), but you said it's too buff up your merc, which Insight isn't that great at (unless he's a Prayer merc). What is he currently using?
If it's about an inexpensive, but excellent weapon to buff up your merc, you can also try Obedience or Reaper's Toll. Obedience is great for mercs of characters who need neither a meditation aura nor ctc curse effects overriding their own curses, i.e. characters with low mana needs who wear e.g. Dracul's Grasp or Atma's Scarab or cast curses themselves.

A four sox hell polearm should be fine. Insight is inexpensive so make a new once you get the eth Polearm. Flawless gems can be found in NM Cows. GL!
