Deleting Posts

I can't seem to figure out how to Delete one of my own posts, even though when you highlight over "Edit" it says "Edit/Delete" even in the Advanced editing options, I can't seem to find it. Can someone help me out here?

That must be one of the features that could be enabled (but isn't), because only mods can delete posts.

It would cool to be able to condense a Double Post into one post, and delete the second post, without getting mods involved.

I'm sure they have a good reason for not letting people have that capability. Maybe so others can mock double-posters.
