I am not a big fan of "forced twinking" either, although I DO appreciate that most D2 players twinked even though it meant using methods never intended by the devs. That's MOST players; I never did this
What I would like would be a "fresh start" mode, which would let you start a new char with its own artisans/stash/gold (and ideally no AH access either). Sort of a "living off the land" mode parallel to (but separate from) Hardcore. Theoretically you could fake this by restricting what you use, but way the system is currently set up you'd have to spend a lot of time doing complicated bookkeeping to figure out what crafted items you were eligible for, for instance
Maybe we'll get something like "fresh start mode" in a patch or EP, who knows![]()
There is simple solution:
If u want fresh start - just dont use crafters and stash at all.
It is Diablo. Diablo is not solo game. There is way to give uor items to other ppl. U can at least drop them to ground. As long as there is way to give your items to whoever else - there is way to give an item to your other character. Blizzs just made this way easier. Dont want to - dont do so.
Many games do have a "delete user data, really?!?" option somewhere, so I think it's not out of the question for D3, but I can't imagine it being a terribly popular option. A "fresh start mode" for individual characters (without deleting your other characters) would be the equivalent server-side of having multiple accounts, so I don't think that's something they're going to support. They already had to cut back on stash size in part due to the server load created by having such a huge stash, so I don't see them allowing people to have multiple "fresh" instances of the game any time soon.
Im sure blizz support can wipe your d3 acc if u ask them gentle enough
Hah... don't want to give up having multiple characters, just want the OPTION of having them independent of each other. The idea of the "fresh start" button would be per character, not per account.
And don't want to not use artisans (a BIG part of the item system) or stash (really essential for storage even with one character, and more so when we get gems and sockets) either. Neither of those is a practical solution. In the current implementation, there IS no practical solution to avoiding forced twinking. A (smaller) per-char stash in addition to the shared stash, like Torchlight has, would go part of the way, but it wouldn't solve the artisan or gold issues.
As for the "it's Diablo" argument, the devs confirmed many times that they didn't intend twinking to be a part of D2... they just didn't bother to prevent it. They could easily have added a shared stash in a patch or EP (like Titan Quest did with ITS EP, for instance), but they didn't do that either. Soooo, yeah... D3 is the first Diablo game in which twinking has been part of the design, as opposed to a tolerated exploit![]()
It seems so bliz mustd put char limit to single for u to be happy
Blizz has actually stated that they're looking in to the option of completely resetting your artisans for people who truly want a fresh start.
For what it's worth, I agree wholeheartedly with Srikandi that a fresh start option per character would be a very nice feature. Even in D2 I still choose to play some characters untwinked. But I also doubt that they will bother making that option, more likely they will add some sort of "reset all" function like Urzuxo said.

When people tell me "plz" just because it's shorter than 'please', I feel perfectly justified to answer 'No' because it's shorter than 'Yes'.
And the Lord said unto Carl: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'. But Carl came fifth and won a toaster.
Isn't that called hardcore mode? I'm not positive how artisans and stashes concern hardcore, but that should be a fresh start.
