Very bummed about this. My PC starts to overheat pretty quickly when playing D3 and eventually it'll start getting random freezes/black-outs. I've looked around a bit online and the help I've found hasn't been very, um, helpful. I've made sure the fans are working, the airways are clear, and the room is cool, but it's not enough. :( Glad I got a chance to play beta cuz I need to get this resolved pre-release - any help of a not-too-techy nature would be GREATLY appreciated!!
The temps are getting into the mid-60s and at one point it hit 70 (when I first thought to see if the temps were the problem). :|
It starts doing the black-out thing at around 60c. No idea about what the case is but I have:
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+
Is adding more fans hard to do??
What cooler you have on your CPU ? Besides computer shouldn't blackout at 60C. It's high, but processor can handle more.
How would I tell what my cooler is? I checked and it said the max safe temp for my CPU is 65 so 60 does seem like pushing it.
Ok so we are talking only about the CPU here ? So I guess your video card is fine ? If that's the case then it's very simple, buy a decent aftermarket cooler with some thermal paste and install those. Your heatsink might be loose or/and the thermal compound may be crappy and hardened.
