Very bummed about this. My PC starts to overheat pretty quickly when playing D3 and eventually it'll start getting random freezes/black-outs. I've looked around a bit online and the help I've found hasn't been very, um, helpful. I've made sure the fans are working, the airways are clear, and the room is cool, but it's not enough. :( Glad I got a chance to play beta cuz I need to get this resolvedpre-release - any help of a not-too-techy nature would be GREATLY appreciated!!
What are the temperatures of the GPU / CPU ? And what are your specs (including the case) ? HWMonitor CPU-Z
You might want to clean the fans with Dust-Off (dust cleaner). Maybe you'll have to add more case fans.
The temps are getting into the mid-60s and at one point it hit 70 (when I first thought to see if the temps were the problem). :|
It starts doing the black-out thing at around 60c. No idea about what the case is but I have:
Ok so we are talking only about the CPU here ? So I guess your video card is fine ? If that's the case then it's very simple, buy a decent aftermarket cooler with some thermal paste and install those. Your heatsink might be loose or/and the thermal compound may be crappy and hardened.
