Hiding the minimap

Has anyone found a way to hide the minimap from the top right corner? It's pretty frustrating how it obscures monsters behind it.

I don't think you can do that.
About maps, what would be nice, if you could move while full screen map is active. Atm character just stops.

They've purposely designed it like that. They don't want a repeat of D2 when you would just stare at a map and run. They also seem to like the idea of the player having to get a hold of his/her bearings.
