    Class Synergies?

    Hey guys,

    A friend and I plan on rushing through normal as fast as possible on our first characters and such. We have been considering different match-ups but can't seem to solely decide on the perfect duo.

    Any thoughts? Ideas?

    Something that won't make you quit. Seriously, though, every class has group-supporting skills. Some more directly: mantra, warcry, breath of heaven, while some indirectly: frost nova, slow time, threatening shout, war stomp, entangling shot, caltrops, sentry with healing rune, grasp of the dead, blinding flash, and those are just examples off the top of my head.

    Maybe a mix of range and melee can have an advantage, but even that is not guaranteed. 2 melee classes mean less tanking required by each so they can be more reckless, while range+melee means the ranged class needs to worry less about kiting. There really isn't a set-in-stone solution here for the "best" team, since all classes are pretty good at supporting just about any other class. So just pick classes that you'll actually keep playing, because if one of you doesn't feel like playing one day (maybe because he doesn't like his class choice), it pretty much screws the team over.

    Monk and ranged. The monk has a heal spell.

    A monk will compliant any classes. Heals, mantras, dmg buffs, cc and good dmg output all rolled into one class. Can't go wrong with it, unless you just don't like how it plays.

    To compliment the monk I would go with either a DH, Wiz or WD for a melee/ranged combo. A DH and monk will never be using the same weapons and will make trading those very simple, but since they both use Dex there will be competition for armor and anything without dex that drops will go to waste. A Wiz or WD could likely end up using similar weapons (for leveling you'll just be grabbing the highest dps weapon you can use and not really worrying about other stats) but you'll be looking at completely different stats for your armor, which will benefit you both since you can split the Int/Dex gear between you both.

    You could also say barbarian would benefit more from the healing as he shares your damage, while a monk+ranged will mean monk might take most of the damage.

    Really, in the end, it seems like anything might be a good combo, and the only real thing to worry about is not have 2 classes that overlap too much gear. But then again just about any 2 classes will overlap *some* gear.

    IMO just go with 2 (different) classes you like. It'll most likely work out just as well as any other combo, but because you like the classes you'll play them more and thus get more exp and loot and be stronger

    I would go monk/wizard - you'll both have a teleport/dash to use between packs. I think that combo would be the "fastest" for early going.

    Wizard's Arcane Disruption + any Arcane spell from another class (With Doctor's Haunt, Demon Hunter's Imminent Doom, Demon Hunter's Burst Fire).

    The bonus from Arcane Disruption should also work when party members use certain non-elemental skills on the affected target while having an Arcane weapon equipped.

    And of course any melee class would go well with a meteor-using wizard (and/or maybe grenades-using DH), at least against melee monsters.

    The combination options really are quite endless

    From a HC perspective:

    Monk and Barb.. Barb pumps dps.. monk heals, reduces damage from enemy packs via Resolve passive and crippling wave, uses mantras, etc.

    If I had to add one more it would be WD.. Big Bad Voodoo = ultimate buff for this party

    Each class has a different primary stat for maximizing equipment sharing.

    From the same HC perspective, a wizard can freeze, slow missiles and wave of force any shots caught in the bubble (or just use it as knockback), while the barb tanks, stuns, heals self with revenge, increases party armor and reduce enemy damage with shouts.

    Really, any 2 classes you pick, you could find good synergies. The only thing that will make working together more difficult is if you both play the same class, and even then I bet there are decent synergies you could use - Ex: only one barb gets warcry, each monk gets different mantra, both wizards freeze to enjoy +20% damage passive or both use some fire damage to enjoy +10% damage passive, etc etc etc...
