Well, that's been my plan anyway, so all good.
You won't be selling anything the first week.

i love it when a plan comes together...
I honestly don't think that 1 week of the RMAH being down is going to affect the chaotic nature of the early market much. Sure gold will sell for a bit less, or it may stay up there in price, since not having an RMAH to post your gold to will allow most people to use it to raise either their crafting or stash and then all that gold is out of the market anyway. The thing that makes me sad is that we lose that early market of having almost no supply and a very high demand. I was planning on not doing anything in game the first week except play through normal and post everything on RMAH. Now I'll have to resort to stashing what I planned on selling and hope the market goes live as chaotic as we expected it to.
That's not a motto, that's... that's just you saying a bunch of things.
In the AH guide here:

It doesn't specifically list gold as a tradeable item, and the $1 per sale is going to mean you'll need to sell decent amounts I suspect even if it is.
I assume you are all talking about softcore selling? I have no idea what markets were for SC vs HC in DII, anyone remember? Don't really want to play SC, it doesn't give you regular heart attacks.
Gold is a commodity not an item. It's subject to a 15% fee when sold on the RMAH like all commodities. The $1 fee is for items.
(I see it's not listed there, but if you read the main FAQ you'll see gold can be sold on the RMAH)
Ah yes, didn't see the comms' charges were different...
