I am in amazement you call it takeaway. Sounds like the opposite of giveway.

Here we call it take out. My favorite is Five Guys. Bit juicy burgers with fries fried in peanut oil, mmm. They just dump extra fries into your bag as well, and its awesome. Went to get some tonight but they closed the location closest to our house, so had to get Qdobe.

I am not sure what is strange about takeaway, it is essentially the same meaning as takeout. You take away / out the food to another place (your home).

I've never heard takeaway either, but I assumed it was the same as take out after reading the posts.

@hotdog business: Danish hotdogs.. The true origin of the hotdog. Nothing can be compared to it. A (real) wiener, roasted, with ketcup, hot mustard, remoulade (Danish thing), raw onions, fried onions, and pickles. It's heaven.
