What setting will D3 run good on my computer?

    Nvidia 9500GS
    3gb RAM
    t5550 1.8 ghz core2duo

I plan to buy a new computer just for D3, but I'm unemployed at the moment and will probably take a good two weeks to find a jerb. :|

Is it a laptop ? If so I guess the video card is actually a 9500m GS ?
Or is it a desktop ? The desktop version of the 9500 GS is listed as Medium, but that CPU seems to be weak / average.

Don't expect constant 60fps on low with this config.

Re: What setting will D3 run good on my computer?

    I have relatively similar specs.
    An Acer 6920 laptop;
    Intel Core 2 duo T5900 (2.2ghz)
    9500m GS
    4gb DDR2

I've been searching around literally for days to see if I can run D3 on low settings without getting bad lag when there are mobs. I have seen a youtube video that shows a 9500m gs apparently playing D3 beta, and it is listed under Blizzard's 'low' settings.

However, i have seen others who have said that their setup won't run D3 well even with a 9500m GS, and on videobenchmark.net it seems that the 9500m gs actually gets significantly lower scores than the 'minimum' specs, despite it being listed on Blizzard's 'low' list.

Before I drop $60, I really want to know that D3 will actually run decently on low settings. If anyone can help me out, PLEASE respond!

It seems you've done your research pretty well, and you managed to talk to someone with the same video card and he said it was playable + from the video it seemed to be, so I would guess it is. But since "running decently" can be subjective, you may want to try out the guess pass just to see how you like it before buying it ? I don't think anybody else can give you much more information than that, even those who have the exact same laptop will probably say you can run it, the big question would be is it smooth enough for you ? If you are looking for constant 60+ fps you are out of luck, but if you want something playable I am pretty sure you can get 35+ fps most of the time.

Yeah I've definitely spent my time doing research before I've posted lol.
I've only heard of the guest pass as part of the CE edition. Do you have to know someone who has the CE edition to get a guest pass, or can you get it for free? And yeah honestly I'm just looking for high 20's FPS, with it hopefully never dipping below that.
    Thanks a bunch man

edit: Just googl'd guest pass and saw that Blizz released a free 'starter edition'. This is perfect for testing out how my rig will handle the game. Thanks soooo much lol

re-edit: Grrrrrr.... "Note: The Diablo III Starter Edition will not be available without a Guest Pass until further notice."

re-re-edit: just FYI, the card seems to be below the minimum req's, despite the fact that it is on blizzard's 'low' list. When I first launched the game client (but not the game... see above :( ), I got this message:
    "
Your system does not meet out minimum recommended specs for Diablo III and the gameplay experience may be poor..." Every other spec save the GPU is definitely above minimum.

Anyone have a guest pass their willing to give to this poor chap?

The starter edition won't require a guest pass 30 days from now.
I read that in an article on Tom's Hardware.

Re: What setting will D3 run good on my computer?

When I first installed the Free Beta a month ago it said my processor was below minimum specs. I have a 2.53 GHz E7200 Core 2 Duo. Anyone can confirm to have installed the game on a similar or weaker CPU? I don't want to buy the damn thing and find out it doesn't run...
