i am just trying to figure out bow vs xbow damage here. seeing as the xbow hits so much harder but the bow is faster i am wondering if it will even out, even with the dps listing having such a huge gap

It looks like bows get an extra property as well as being faster.
Yeah but Bows have a HUGE min/max damage range compared to Crossbows which do extremely consistent damage, that's the trade off for the speed/stats it would seem.
Personally I don't like when things have such a huge discrepancy between minimum and maximum damage, especially in a game like Diablo where monsters don't usually live long enough for the DPS to "stabilize" on weapons that have larger ranges.
As for DW vs 2H, I've already outlined in a previous post that I still believe that there are plenty of instances where 2H will be great. I definitely understand why and how DW looks so attractive and all that, but I see a lot of potential for big hitting 2H's with certain gear/skill setups in Inferno.
This is from Beta Patch 5.The damage bonus granted to two-handed weapons over one-handed weapons has been reduced from 15%-38% from level 1-60 to 13%-32%
I don't think it would hurt for Blizzard to reverse one of their 2H damage nerfs (I thought there was another one, I can't find it though). With the +damage scaling so well with DW, maybe they should add some of that damage back to 2H?
It is a very delicate balance though, it may be fine where it is, like I said, I can already think of great reasons to use 2H's.
We know what random modifiers an item can roll from diablonut.
You are basing all of this on the assumption that IAS isn't multiplicative and doesn't have a hard cap, and also that it will regularly appear on good gear. From what I have seen, unless I'm mistaken, it only spawns on weapon slot items. But I'd have to look into that.
Percentage-based APS bonuses can spawn on gloves and jewelry as well, although only as a secondary bonus, which means that these bonuses will be lower compared to what may appear on weapons. Also, I'm sure that I saw some Set items with flat APS bonuses before they were taken down from Blizzard's site. They weren't gloves nor jewelry so we may see attack speed affixes on Legendaries or Sets in item slots, where they couldn't normally appear.
There are low level "glove" attack speed mods, and apparently ones for high level "armor" as well. I don't know how affix groups mix, could a pair of gloves grab similar affixes from the "glove" group as well as "armor" and effectively double-up on the bonus?
In any case, it appears that all armor slots can potentially have attack speed at end game.
