Have you checked Wal-Mart? Their website still lists the CE as available preorder and their in-store electronics department will get some too.

ya i was aware of this change (not sure if it was directed at me or just clearing in general) but still people only need to have a friend with the ce now to get full benefit of the dye. for example in my case my wife will use our ce so i still get the dye if i want. i would have prefered if they were really CE exclusive

Yea, i kinda think that was a bad idea but lets be honest, no ones going to care about them after a few months if there are dyes that are rare drops. The CE dyes are going to be common place for awhile, in 5 years they might be rare but by then we will have expansions with there own special CE items.

I was thinking - if the angel wings / dyes appear with every new character you create, couldn't you put those items into the shared stash and delete your characters, so that you have pairs of angel wings/ dyes to put on the AH?

I'm guessing they just don't let you put those on the AH.

I would guess so too - it seems like a crazy thing to allow the AH to be flooded with those and since they'd be free to make for CE players, they'd be acquirable by everyone.

I preordered the collectors edition way back in December. The ingame items, id still preorder the collectors without them, the in game items have no value

Look at it like this. Ill assume your like me and u plan on playing d3 religiously for years to come. This extra 40$ spent today is a 1 time purchase towards a decade of possible dedication to the game. Sure it will be neat when it first comes out but the novelty will quickly wear off. But. In years to come as the crowd thins out u may start to see less and less ppl with these exclusive items. This making you stand out more just for having played longer and making that extra 40$ purchase years back. Thus bringing back the novelty of the items. Example: I played WOW for many years. Quit last October. I got the CE of bc way back when. And at that time when I brought out my lil pet ppl were like meh so what I got that too. Now right b4 I quit. If I brought out that same limited edition pet from BC years later. Ppl are whispering me "hey where'd u get that". "sweet I want one". Etc... The point is. Your gonna be happier in the long run having this extra stuff. At least that's how I feel about it anyways.

    TLR
What's an extra 40$, 1 time buy for a lifetime of extra coolness.

you should be able to gift the wow pet but my guess would be no. the added it so people who buy the ce will keep their wow subscription up. thats my guess anyway. if you can gift the pet then i will take the ce back and give the wife the normal edition
