Items From D2

I've noticed that the WD can use a ceremonial knife called 'The Gidbinn'. Does anybody know of other D2 items that are in D3? Azurewrath is another one? Homunculus too.

Hard to say exactly. There was abunch of named items on the D3 site, but Blizz said those were palceholder names.
IIRC, there was Schaefer's Hammer, Cranium Basher, and pretty much all the D1 and D2 uniques.

Many of the items from D2 are making a return, which is awesome.

Majority are high level gear, including sets which are all lvl 60 and can only be found in Inferno.

Returning items I'm looking forward to finding (I hope) :
- The Grandfather
- Wizardspike
- Windforce
- Andariel's visage
- Tyrael's might (because it looks cool and probably has awesome stats)
- Goldskin (more gold!!)
- Magefist (wonder if they will be as awesome as d2 ones)
- String of Ears (my all time favo belt)
- SOJ!
- The Oculus (off-hand item now)

Now with a proper crafting system and game is viable with using blues and rares, I have a feeling powerful lvl 60 legendary and set items will be like the rate at which tyrael drops in D2 (FYI I've played since LOD was out, and until now have NOT found the armor.)

Doesn't really matter though that you started playing since LOD came out, it was added in 1.10 and a ladder only drop. I never found it either but I did get one through trading.
My favo look for armor is still Silks of the Victor though, even upgraded on to elite
