I'll go with 175 days. Yes, I think you all underestimate the developers.
Let's think about this realistically.
There will be clans of 20+ guys working toward this goal.
They can play 4 characters 24 hours a day between them.
They can farm items with other characters to equip.
They can purchase the best gear on RMAH as soon as it becomes available.
Each difficulty level will take around 5 hours to complete if side quests are ignored.
That means you've completed Hell by 15 hours, possibly sooner.
My guess is: Softcore Inferno will be cleared within 48 hours of release. Hardcore Inferno will be cleared within 96 hours.
Edit: Softcore - 2 days. Hardcore - 4 days.

Guesstimating 7 days.
I think there will be a huge difference between when someone clear Inferno for the first time and when people can actually do it reasonably well.
The first person through Inferno might die a 100 times trying to get there, and sure it will be a clear, but not a very useful one.
Id be very surprised if no one have cleared Inferno within month, within 1-2 weeks seems much more likely. Doing it effectively though...
There is no doubt that RMAH will speed the process for the latter though, as the ones getting there first will have a million people farming their best gear for them.
The one I'm interested in: How long will it take for someone to be able to reasonably effectively* clear Inferno, without using RMAH? Would be cool if that number was multiple months.
*As in not dying every 5 minute.
im going with 8 weeks. I suspect Blizzard have made inferno near impossible.
Aidz has gone of the deep end.
For a start a difficulty cannot be beaten in 5 hours.

Ok. Main post updated! (just woke up lol)
@ABarbarian I put you down on 7 days, unless you want to be more specific?
@Flux I put 3 on your guess too. having been curious on what you thought it will be :P
As expected we have a wide range of prediction here from 2 to 175 days! But majority are betting on the lower end of the scale which definitely is against what Bash had told us. This will be very interesting on how it'll turns outor maybe we just don't have faith on big-time developer anymore :P
I would say it's a group of friends who will do it. Probably WoW players from guilds like Paragon or Ensidia will be the first ones to achieve it.
I'll go with 10 days for full inferno clear. That being said if those people do it in 10 it can still take months for the more average guy.
Actually i'll go with 4 days.
Me too. However with skillful teams the limiting factor will be a gear check. With infinite respecs and infinite chances at a boss, it won't take long for a semi-intelligent and skilled team to beat an encounter.. The only thing stopping a skilled team is a gear check.
If there is a gear check, progression is dependent on drop rates. In this case the time it takes to defeat Inferno could be months or years, depending on how sadistic Blizzard is with drop rates...
