    Question RE: battle.net /ignorepersist function

    and makes me

Hello forum. First off this is one of my first posts and I will be posting a link, if this is against forum rules please advise me and I will cease and desist from doing so in the future/and edit my post.

In this newcomer area of the forum there is a thread discussing 'beating spam bots'. Last post was from 2010 and post was from long before that so although this is related I thought I would discuss it. I searched the forums regarding the ignore persist function and came up dry, please point me in the right direction if i overlooked something.

To the point, is it legal for me to edit my D2 ignore list file in order to use the /ignorepersist function? I understand that it is a function build into battle.net itself but I still wanted to be sure. What i mean is ignoring people who use certain phrases, as discussed in this topic: Link deleted by Noodle

I just wanted to be sure I can do this and it is not illegal/will not get me banned. Thank you in advance!

    Re: battle.net /ignorepersist function

Welcome! Posting a link in and of itself isn't necessarily a problem, but posting to that particular site is - they welcome hacks, bots, and forum gold, none of which we welcome here. I'll go ahead and edit it out of your post, and thank you for asking about it.

I switched over to Single Player years ago, so haven't worried about bots since the end of the first ladder in the 1.10 patch. If your question is about setting up a filter so you can ignore any poster using a specific phrase on battle.net, I've seen it discussed here before, and it seems perfectly legitimate to me.
