Well, if peoples' estimations of average health pools for high level characters are correct, it looks like Blizzard will allow potions to just fall off towards the end of the game. What's a 12k hp heal on a 60-100k hp character?
This! I've played the beta for the first (and probably the last) time today. I only had 2 hours so I semi-rushed and my untwinked barbarian died 3 times. I was using potions constantly and was really desperate for a globe to drop in several fights. In the end after defeating Leoric I had 2 or 3 potions left. If that trend is what we'll see in the game I think there would be a good balance between pots and globes.
I want a combination of movement, passive/skill mitigation, potions, globes and leech.
actually, it's a pretty unsurprising and tame implementation for a game with as many modern mainstream tendencies like D3. again, other games severely restrict the number of potions (no CD necessary) one could carry and health globes are uncommon. margins for error become razor thin as you go up in difficulty. the idea isn't "kill monsters to get health". it's "learn to play better or get blown up because potions, globes and items won't save you".
