Hey people
When you loot a epic item that is worth for example £100, what would you do with it.
Sure you'll be able to farm and kill faster with your new epic weapon but will the temptation to sell it be to much.
What would you do ?![]()
Imo if something is worth that much id keep it. It means its strong as hell (lol pun) and diablo is all about the loot.
But as an Economy person like yourself should know, diablo is about the loot but now we have the rmah its also about money.
I think I wouldn't be able to stop myself from selling it, those of us in it from the money have to sell or your just farming for a bunch of pixels.
It will be a great buzz the first few times you sell something for a decent amount.
If you keep something you'll always be thinking about the value of that item and keep checking whats its selling for.
I'll keep one good weapon but I'll market the rest of my warez.![]()
People tend to give ridiculous value to perfectly rolled items, even though a "close enough" item for all intents and purposes will be just as effective. So if I were playing in softcore, and found some item that was worth a ridiculous amount of money, I would sell it, then buy an item that is 99% as good for a small fraction of what I earned.
This is true, I have sold perfect rolls in beta for 80,000 gold but the same sword with 1 dps difference is worth about 10,000 if you can even sell it. It's all about prestige with people having perfect items when an almost perfect roll with do the same amount of killing.
So your idea for making making is a good one, sell the item then buy a 2 dps less version for a fraction of your profits. Killing power + money in the bank![]()
why only softcore ? whats different about RMAH in hardcore ? arent hardcore values gonna be even higher since the items keep dissapearing ? (and i dont think the third world kids and certainly not their employers who are gonna be organising their efforts are gonna take the risk of having them play hardcore)
I'd keep it. I guess I say that now but I just can't see myself selling items in game for real money. I guess if I got to a point where I really needed money I would look into it but I don't think I'd sell it even if I could sell it for $100+.
I am old fasioned and think it is rediculous to spend money on game items. I also think it is rediculous to sell items for money unless you are in a third world country and it matters a lot for you and could even be a nice self employed job opportunity. For the rest of us, gaming should imo be about having fun, not spending or making money.
I must admit that i might make an exception if i´d find some perfect rolled item and could sell it for 3000$, to buy back a non perfect rolled one for less than a tenth of it. Espescially when the game is really new, items are really rare and idiots are gonna be paying insane amounts for them. But i didnt play the beta, dont understand the thing with the rmah balance limit, so i don´t even know if it is at all possible to get more than 250$ and cash it out.
I do understand that everyone has its own value of money and price to let go of principles. I stated 3000$ as an example, maybe for some of you young guys who still rely on the money they are given by their parents or get to work at a lousy side job for 3$ an hour it is different and 100 or 200$ might be important enough to go for it. For those however, i would say go and explore other ways of making money online, there is easy and certain money to be made in casino bonusses and almost everyone can learn to make 5$ - 10$ an hour on micro stakes poker if you really want to. (just realise you really have to learn it, before venturing into this, ask experienced, consistently winning players about this, or be aware that it takes significant research on your own if you do not want to be throwing away your money)
