Does Diamind Skin absorb before or after mitigation?

I was looking around for the answer and didn't see it.

I think "before" would be pretty silly, but you never know. In either case it definitely can make a big difference and thus it's a good question worth testing as soon as possible

Probably after stuff like armor and resistances but before some others, such as Force Armor, though I'm just speculating.

Thanks for the attempts, gents. I've been hoping that the absorption is post-mitigation for obvious reasons, but you never know. I was banking on some savvy individual with a heart of gold and beta access to check it out, but its looking like release day testing is more likely.

I've been toying around with a "up in their face" style wizard build, with plans to teleport into packs of mobs. I'd rather know how much diamond skin can be relied on before I do that with a hardcore character! Then again the whole thing might be a terrible idea depending on how arcane torrent / death blossom behaves...but it looks like fun to me. =)

For some reason it didn't occur to me to test this so far. I'll rectify this tonight.

After some testing, I can say with absolute certainty, that damage mitigation comes before Diamond Skin.

This was very apparent when I gathered up 9-10 crawling torsos and let them beat me up, first naked, then in full armor. When I was naked Diamond Skin never hold out for its full duration. However when I equipped my gear, it always lasted for 6 seconds. Also, damage can be fully blocked during Diamond Skin as well.

That is some pretty excellent and exciting news for me. I'm starting to get my hopes up for a melee wizard build. With block and armor mitigation taking place before diamond skin, it is fair to say resistances and any flat damage reduction would as well (not sure if this is in the game?). Between dodge, block, armor, resistances and diamond skin, the wizard shall reign supreme in melee. Consider it so!
