Sockets and gems

Are sockets only availible in weapons and helms now? Webpage for gems only gives info about weapons and helms but the jeweler is still discribed to socket armors etc aswell. Also is it mentioned how many sockets an item can have?

Saw in the beta that armors etc still have sockets but that might not be the most recent build...

I don't think anyone really knows until we get some official response on this.

Sockets are available on most items

And looking at item affixes, armors can still get sockets, so not sure which part is not final yet.

I would guess that only weapons and helms can be socketed now, otherwise they wouldn't have written that on the website.

On their website they also have !!!MISSSING!!0.4Crit damage so I wouldn't take it as gospel

I still think that a top gem will take insane amounts of time to obtain, but seeing as there doesn't seem to be a way for gems to dissapear, sooner or later they won't be so rare (as is the case with all items btw).

There is in hardcore! It will suck way more to lose that awesome gear that has the highest tier gems in it, mwahahahaha.

haha yeah. that's the good thing about HC, they don't have to worry as much about item inflation .
