Mwuhaha, I'm starting threads everywhere!
Good point but still everybody in this thread seem to think that mainly people in public games will rush! I would like to share however that I played three 4-player public games today and found two individuals that didn't rush. I just befriended them and created a personal game with them, since they didn't like rushers either. <- tip!
When you TP in D3, you don't actually leave a portal open; you go back to town, like hearthstones in WoW; you can use the waypoints to get back, which leaves the portal open in town, but it won't be available in the game world, you'd have to re-portal to get back.
On topic...I expect public games to feel like random dungeons in WoW; everyone is in a hurry, like their pants are on fire or something, and you, or I, if you follow my meaning, will be flamed/pressured to keep up. When I do MP, I am probably only doing so with people I know.
i rather a proper chat. i really like the idea of sub forums here so we can meet up with people. the irc chat room also works
I never liked looking for a party in a chat, so I'm fine with their current system. The only thing missing for me is an option to create an open game in either difficulties for free monster hunting. Although not implementing such an option in the beta makes sense, so maybe we'll see something similar in the final game.

If you don't like rushing and wanna play public, you could just create a game titled "No Rushing". Oh wait......
