Quest 2 is PARTIALLY unlocked. You can get the staff (and cube if you missed it), do not set foot in the lost city.

That is some impressive Leap Attack damage. Do you need to leap to do that damage, or can it be used instead of a normal attack?

i'm not sure really, i believe i've read that if you arent leaping into the air, but still hitting monsters, you're not doing the full damage. this seems right because i frequently just swing and hit w/o killing the target that i'd normally leap, swing, and kill. also sometimes LA is like charge in that you dont swing, but you still do the damage. these are the best since you can recover from them much faster than a leap then swing attack. Hup has shown me just how buggy LA can be.

IMO, i think you should start putting vita in. as you said, you dont need to be dexazon. if you insist on going mostly dex though, i'd suggest at least getting 800-1000 life before dumping everything into dex/str.

edit: ran Andy some, got a level. no drops i'd wanted, but i did get two (count em, two!) string of ears. if i dont get anything else from her, that alone is worth it. the one i kept was 7ll/14%dr/14mdr. since i have life leech again i swapped my armor (boneflesh) for my merc's so we both have life leech now.

Nice progress everyone. I'm still in this but haven't played D2 in over a week now. I should be able to get a bit of catching up in tomorrow though.

I hope to do a fair bit of catching up tonight, but I'm not sure, because I also have to do some cleaning and gardening (never buy a house... ;o) )

Edit: I managed to get past Duriel, so now I'm at A3Q2. Still lvl 23 tho, so my next session (Saturday or Sunday, real life is interfering until then) will begin with some (needed) exp runs

Alright so apparently I didn't update it after the last time I had caught up. I had caught up to NM Act 1 previously... no notable drops that I remember. I started to play a couple of nights ago to try to catch up again, but I was so exhausted after work and was falling asleep so I got to the Black Marsh WP and then called it a day. The WP is right next to the tower though, so I may do a few runs to get some runes. I'm gonna need to try to farm up some of the mid runes to cube up to a Lem for Treachery... probably try to catch up on the act quests first though and then come back to it.

made it through maggot lair, nothing new really. i did run Andy long enough to get angelic amulet and a ring. i am now hoping to find gear to make up the res from my nice ammy. might have to start dumping points into nat res otherwise. crafted another blood ring, crap. crafted another set of gloves, crap. found my first physical immune... crap! dunno what to do about them later, i can just leap lock them forever, but the merc cant do much, i think OW from his boneflesh killed this one, but it was only a unique cloud of gnats and it took forever. dont even wanna think about the physical immune frenzytaurs in hell...*shudders*

GL - the Countess can drop up to Io from her special rune drop and IIRC you need 81 Ios to cube a Lem.

Made it up to the jail 1 wp. Mostly smooth sailing so far, had a close call with done ef/es devilkin in the tower but not too bad.

Found my 5th angelic sabre I think. Still don't have the armor though. Only piece I'm missing.

Alright, I've made it. I'm in A2, Nightmare, with a Horadric staff ready. This thrower barb is pretty nice, though he's suffering from some accuracy problems. My two throwing spears are nothing special - just some hefty %ED on them. Notable items I've found though are a Bloodfist and a Manald Heal, and also an Iron Pelt for my mercenary. Also a few runes: Shael, Amn and Lum to mention some of the better ones.
