Will my Computer run diablo 3?

Worse than 21fps and better than 9fps ? I'm sorry but at this point it seems there is nothing else we could say that would give you a satisfying answer. The 3 of us feel like it's not even worth playing the game if you get 10-20 fps. I personally don't like when it dips below 35, the optimal fps would be equal to or over your screen refresh rate which is probably 60 Hertz so 60fps. Just to give you an idea, when I disable V-Sync, I get about 110fps @ max settings at a resolution of 2560x1600, so to answer your question "how bad is 10-20fps" at low setting ? Very bad, not an enjoyable experience.

But, I know that this will not be a sufficient answer so my last and best advice would be to tell you to wait and try it on that computer once the game is released. Don't expect too much...

You also have to keep in mind, that you would under no situation be able to play with another person even if you somehow thought you could play with 10 ish fps which is in the vicinity of where you would be. Adding spell effects from other people would pretty much freeze your computer. Integrated graphics pretty much cant run games like this. Really need a computer with a real graphics card in it.

The below breakdown is what I've personally witnessed and experienced, talking about Diablo 3 mostly, but including other games as well. The numbers are approximations and should not be taken as exact values.


1-9 FPS -> You'll see very considerable stuttering, almost completely unplayable. Your screen may simply freeze every second towards the low FPS's. Impossible if you want to play Hardcore mode.

10-19 FPS -> You'll see less but still persistent stuttering. The game will possibly be playable but will not be an enjoyable experience by far. You'd probably get a headache and give up after 10 minutes of play.

20-24 FPS -> The game is very much playable, with minimal stuttering. You will experience your character and the entire game world moving seemingly in slow motion most of the time, and occasionally speeding up for a second or two to catch your client up with the server. Not very much an enjoyable experience, but playable for a while.

25-29 FPS -> Most of the slowdown issues with the above FPS range will go away at this point and some users may not even notice any kind of lag or slowdowns. Depends on your monitor and eyesight.

30+ FPS -> *For me*, 30 FPS is the optimal setting, and the one I always play on. 40-60 FPS looks worse than 30 FPS to me, but I know many users swear by "the more the better". Depending on your personal preference, 30 FPS will be perfect for you.

for those more tech savvy than me, I'm getting anxious closer to release date and I'd like to find out if my PC can run D3 one level lower than Ultra (I hope!). My specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21 GHz
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series
RAM: 3.5 GB
HDD: 300 GB
OS: 64-bit Windows 7

ok... but which one ? The 5450 ? This is not a gaming video card, so I highly doubt you could go higher than medium quality.
