I wonder if any rune will just upgrade damage/range of basic Fire Bats because this flamethrower is awesome. Vanilia version is my fav spell of WD from beta.

Plague Bats does this. It keeps the original range, but the damage steadily grows to be 225% instead of a flat 150%. The damage type is also changed from Fire to Poison, but I don't think damage type will matter most of the time.

The video was recorded with the emulator. The casting speeds for the Dire Bats and Hungry Bats rune effects are messed up. Otherwise it's a good demonstration.

Don't forget Vampire Bats - it's also a 'strictly better' version of the original Firebats, having an added-on bonus on top of the default which is still there.
