Leveling a Frenzy Barb- a few questions

Well, I am level 69 and just hit hell and I am strugling. NK swords are Bloodletter and King's Grace runesword. Found some Venomgrips and they seem to have help but killing is still much slower than I would like.

It seems like level wise I should be okay, but I am just getting stomped. I freed Cain, but the randomly generated bosses are kicking my but hard.

Your weapons suck basically. That's probably the main reason.
Try to find the following ( NM Meph, Baal runs )

Coldsteel eye
Headstriker
Butcher's pupil

You will need a Pul and Lum rune to upgrade them for use in hell.
You can also look for the following elites from NM Baal. They don't have to be upgraded. Bloodmoon elegant blade, Razor's edge tomahawk, Djinn slayer Ataghan.

Alternatively you can go or some cheap runewords

Crescent moon ( shaelUmTir )- phase blade
Oath ( ShaelPulMalLum ) - eth elite sword or axe.

I don't know if this is Bnet or single player but either way you can use these forums to trade for good weapons real cheap.. few pgems for the uniques at most.

Thanks Zap...now all I need to do is figure out the cost of such things. I have one pul rune, but other than that nothing significant. Looks like I need to spend time farming in NM before moving on. What would these be used for?

I haven't seen any elite weapons that are socketed yet, short of a three socket small crescent.

EDIT: I see it would be used for the formula 1 Lum Rune + 1 Pul Rune + 1 Perfect Emerald + Exceptional Unique Weapon = Elite Version of Weapon ([COLOR=red]Single Player, Ladder Only[/COLOR])

I need a lum too, other than the pul, the highest I have is a Hel

u have two options now as i see it: since you freed cain, the countess is only 2 steps away.

go for uniques: run in nm mephisto, baal, pindleskin, eldritch/shenk

go for runewords: farm the hell countess and look for ingredients for the following runewords: passion, black, honor, lawbringer, voice of reason or with even rarer runes crescent moon and oath. the bases might prove a problem, but the racks in the tower usually drop enough of them. best done on /p1 or in an empty game

Been farming NM Shenk/Elric/Pindy and Countess. Been getting decent runes rather quickly, including IO. looking for base drops, but been using the little bit of MF gear I have. I may stary Baal here is a bit.

Freeing Cain wasn't too bad, but Hell just depletes resources- every time I look around my merc dies. Always scrounging for pots.

I'll give it a shot though.
