    Calculating Life Tap

    If I do 400 average physical damage and have Life Tap, how much life would I gain per hit assuming a 33% physical resistance in Hell mode?

    Re: Calculating Life Tap

    400 * 0.67 = 268

    => 268 * 0.5 = 134

    Yep, there's no difficulty or drain effectiveness penalty like for normal leech so the only thing reducing it will be physical res.

    Re: Calculating Life Tap

    Life and mana leech use the same formulas.
    Lets just say it doesnt work in pvp (it does, but there is a bug in formula which cuts leech a lot).

    In PvM, it works only 50% in NM and 33% in Hell. After that, every target has its own "drain effectiveness" (kind of drain resistance, uber mephisto has 0 so you cant drain from it).
    So assuming you have 10% life leech and hit a target with 10% drain effectiveness, 10000 dealt damage in Hell will give you back 10000*(.10)*(.33)*(.10)=33 life.

    Life tap isnt leech actually, it just returns life back as said. Also this is the only good "leech" method in PvP.
