There are at least 3 setups that could be chosen (for 125fcr) and Im not sure which one is better.
Basically the first question is: spirit shield or stormshield.
Stormshield allows to get 35% or 43% DR easily. This way, one can achieve max DR with enigma.
Rest of the setup woudl be:
40 fcr HOTO
20 fcr amulet
20 fcr trang gloves
20 fcr arach
20 fcr circlet
10 fcr ring
+1 BK ring
I have the feeling that a lot is sacrificed to get the breakpoint, but the char has 50% dr.
The spirit shield setup:
35 fcr shield
20 fcr amu
40 HOTO
20 fcr gloves
10 fcr ring -> free belt slot OR arach -> free both ring slots
I have a feeling tht this setup gives a bit more dmg and nice FHR, but it is problematic to get the DR -> 31% from COA and one would have to equip a belt with 20% DR.
This setup seems to allow to have more life and life replenish too (if one uses verdungo -> but no 50% dr then).
Probably a shako could be used here too, but not sure if it is worth it.
Can anyone tell me which setup is better? At first I was thinking of going for the first one, but after writing everything down, it seems that setup 2 gives more FHR -> so potentially more life due to life skillers.
I like vita (spirit shield) setups personally. On a mid-ish budget you end up with significantly more life and a bit more damage on a vita nec. You can also easily max DR with a vita nec (CoA BerBer + Dungo + Enigma's 8%) when you want to.
Each setup helps to make different duels easier. Do BvCs, chargers, wolves, bowas, ghosts, etc. worry you more than ES sorcs, druids, trappers, v/ts, other necs? Not me. You have bone walls, bone prison (where gm), bone armor, and a golem tanking to help you with all of the former. The latter? Sometimes your bone golem helps. Other times you're better off just unsummoning it so they can't namelock it and stomp you next time you teleport.
I agree with Karth on this part. The spirit shield vita build is better for the mid budget players. It's also quite flexible build.
The main setup would be something along those lines. Stash gear includes high life/dmg setups and abs setups.
Im thinking of going max block, what is the costrier route?
Obv bug belt is expensive.
BB doesn't have a place on a max block nec afaik unless you also wanted to use Snatchii's gloves and Spirit for max block. I'm not really sure how well that would work out as I play on East and we lack such things.
I'm also less familiar with max block setups, but you can go a few different ways with equipment:
2/20 circlet with dex, life, 2os, all res, frw, in no particular order.
2/10 rare amulet with 2x fcr rings OR 15+ crafted amulet with 1x fcr ring OR 20 fcr crafted amulet with spirit weapon. Keep in mind that a 20 fcr amulet always gives you the most gear flexibility.
enigma
hoto OR spirit
SS ber or eld (if you wanted 1x ber in the circlet, it would save you 20 dex at level 94)
10 fcr/15 dex/str or life/mana/res ring
BK OR 10 fcr/15 dex/str or life/mana/res ring
trang's
arach
25 dex dancers (Waterwalks may look nice, but you get 10 more frw, 10 more dex, and 30 fhr from gear is worth more than 65 life in charms. 5% fire res is not important as you should use hotspurs when you need that.)
fhr gcs and small charms as needed for 86% fhr
Thanks for recommending me a spirit build; I need 300 dex for max block.
The build seems to be terrible, when compared to a stormshield build.
Unless you are going for the snatchiis build ofcourse. Imo snatchiis build is the way to go if you don't mind the hassle with unperm items.
Helm: Circ 2 necro / 20 fcr / 2 soc with adds, socket with "ber ber"
Amulet: 2 necro / 20 fcr with adds like life/dex/res/mana
Weapon: Hoto
Armor: Enigma
Shield: Spirit
Gloves: Snatchiis
Belt: Bugbelt
Boots: Shadow dancers
Rings: 10 fcr ring / raven / abs ring. You can stat mb without raven if you want to have mb with wisp on.

So people do use that setup.I was shooting from the hip.
I still like vita though. If I could afford a really expensive nec I'd use vita with swap gear for high block% if I ever decided it was necessary. I understand 63 fcr BvCs can put a lot of pressure on... but I've never dueled a bvc player with the right combination of wealth+latency+skill for that.
