OMG! there are lizards in the beta ? :O
Bleh.
Someone should pester Blizzard forums until they give an answer to this. I don't see how they justify eliminating precision from player actions while promoting combat depth.
to me this is a major issue actually. even when shift clicking i find my arrows dont go exactly where my pointer is. it reminds me of playing games that only had 8 directions you could look just not as extreme of course. this is a serious issue if you prefer precise control over your attacks. also i break everything cause for some reason i like getting the bonus for damaging things and without have pin point aiming it makes that harder too
Thank you Tilitoon for making the great pictures. I noticed the same thing, too, when playing the beta and it is annoying. As people have said, it isn't a huge deal and might only mess you up for a fraction of a second. However, the beta is very easy, low level content. I imagine on Inferno Hardcore, a fraction of a second or a mild misclick could mean the difference between your character living and dying. As such, there should be, at the very least, and option for D2 style mouse aiming.
Its just another idiot-proof game mechanic to make it more convenient. They won't change it, maybe make them larger perhaps. That is all.
Here's a small thing connected with this: Why are the ash urns hard to hit? Well, unlike barrels, your cursor has to be exactly on the urns to target them:
![]()
![]()
Is this deliberate? Maybe so: They don't want urns to get in the way, but they do want barrels to? It all seems pretty odd to me.
p.s. Just as an small illustration of the problems this can cause here's what recently happened to me: I opened a door in the Cathedral and a couple of unburied were right there and immediately attacked me. I was blocked from going back so I escaped forward (not the best idea heading into uncleared waters) turned around and fired directly at the front unburied, who were coming after me. I had completely direct, completely clear-looking line of sight, but there was a barrel against the wall and my shot clipped that (I dare say it was outlined red if I was taking time to notice). There was a skeleton in the barrel who came after me too.
Now obviously none of this matters in the normal difficulty beta, but like others have said, what's going to happen in inferno difficulty if it's as hard as it's claimed to be? The difference between hitting an unburied with a stun attack, say, and generating another add might easily be a life and death matter.

My honest reaction to the pictures was WTF?
Seriously its probably the most major issue i've seen yet. No wonder Jay was dying so much on inferno. Joking aside, i hope its only beta feature, because i cant even imagine this going "live". If this can cause small problems in beta, how can you even play on higher difficulties, not to mention HC Inferno when target prioritizing is a must or you just simply die. This needs to be highlighted and we need blue on this.
Is it still working like this? Can anyone give an update on this?
