At the very beginning of the beta, there are two corpses I never noticed before. A man is tending his arms toward (supposedly) his wife, who is holding what seems to be a child on her lap.

Very sad.

Maybe not something new, but I've found that monster in Den:

Playing through the cathedral in this current patch, occasionally I noticed monsters fighting someone else. Maybe soldiers from the town or something like that? The monsters kill them off as soon as I reach the area, so I haven't been able to get a screenshot of them. Haven't really played much the past two or so patches so don't know if this was introduced then or now. Anyone else seen this?

It's a few soldiers fighting a Grotesque. They die as you get closer, you can't save them.

Yeah I figured it was a triggered thing. Is this new though?

I don't think it is. I remember seeing this event in patch 13.

I found the black mushroom in one of the cathedral levels, it definitely wasnt "outside"

That's where I found it, too. In the Cathedral while on the SK quest.
