"The point here is, most of us will probably get to inferno in a matter of 2-3 weeks max, (although i think i get there in 1.5-2 weeks)"
Really ? "Most of us" meaning more than half, so, let's say 51%, mkay ?
Most of us are CASUALS, meaning we will play in week-ends, 2-3 hours on Sat and 2-3 on Sun.Which is 4-6 hours / week. You think a CASUAL (they make up the most of playes) can get to Inferno in 12 hours (6 hours / week x 2 weeks) ?
You might get to Inferno in 2 weeks, but playing 5-6 hours / day , so like 35-42 hours / week, times 2 = 70-84 hours.Translate this in 6 hours / week for a casual, and you will realize that MOST of us (the casuals) will need 14 weeks (3 and 1/2 months ) to get to Inferno.
"add to that another month or two grinding in hell/inferno and you pretty much have end game gear"
How many will be able to do this ? You, yes, playing 5-6 hours / day for 30 days = 150-180 hours to have pretty much end game gear. Are you extremely sure that the LUCK will be so good ?
Even assuming that will be, a CASUAL will need to farm for SAME 150-180 hours to get his end game gear, which means, take a deep breath, about 30-35 weeks (7 to 9 months).
This assuming only ONE character played buy ALL of us.
This assuming the casuals (most of us, really, like 70% of player base) will ONLY grind XP, because if they lose only ONE hour per weekend to do, i don't know, crafting, they will NEED more time to get to Inferno. Also, the casuals, will DIE alot in Inferno (most of them, not all ofc; there are skilled casuals, but most need experience (time wise) -as in knowing the mobs, the encounters - to be able to die LESS in Inferno.
My very conservative assumption is that RMAH will flourish for 5-6 months at least, then keep it steady for another 8-12 months, then, once more and more people have the desired gear and gold...there will be an Expansion.Another 5-6 months of flourishing RMAH then another 8-12 months steady volumes, then...another Expansion.
Worry not, the only thing that can kill RMAH (and by extension the GAH, and by another extension, the GAME) will be boting and dupeing. You see Blizzard tarnish their reputation (and by extent, their INCOME) leting bots and dupes in Diablo 3?
Even when you're good enough for Act 1 Inferno, you're still going to be too weak for Act 2, and so on, as the difficulty ramps up, and when Act 1 is already quite difficult, any small increase in difficulty can be very significant and take a lot of additional time to deal with. Judging by blue posts, inferno is meant for us to get stuck on for a long long time, even for the most hardcore!
