newbie stuck on trying to play without bot spammers

Make a room called "Password 1234", set the pass to 1234 and voila, old-school captcha. This way there's at least the opportunity for real people to join and party with but no spambots.

This is the most elegant solution I've found yet, unfortunately I've found /filtermsg severely lacking.

Sorry to break your balls here but passworded games don't appear in the games list at all, so nobody would be able to join them. :(

Password 1234: players join, you announce new game name w/ pw (do not type pw; ask a simple question with the answer as the pw). Maker leaves to make, all leave and join new game. No bots.

1. The /filtermsg command filters out messages with the exact words you provide. Type /filtermsg (the exact words you want to filter) when you're in a game. For instance, /filtermsg cheap item shop. This command filters out all messages with the words: cheap item shop. You won't see the messages with these words after applying the filter. Other examples: /filtermsg D2Magic filters out all messages with D2Magic (this is an annoying site at Europe Non Ladder) and /filtermsg www filters out all messages with www. Remember: this command is CaSe SeNsItIvE. Sometimes it seems like the filter doesn't work, but you can try longer strings of words or other strings of words.

2. D2JSP has a list of terms to filter, but IDK whether I'm allowed to link to that website. You should just filter the words which the bot use in public games. It takes some time to filter everything, but the result is rewarding: spamless D2 gaming.
