I'd like to preface this by saying that I understand banner ads are necessary to keep the site afloat.
There is currently a far cry 3 ad running on this site, which is not just a banner, but uses the border space down the sides. It is considerably more colorful / eye catching than the forums themselves, which is distracting when you're trying to just mind your own business reading/posting on the forums.
I know that it isn't always possible to have complete control over what advertising content gets served up on your site, but I (and I assume, many others) would greatly appreciate not having ads that are that intrusive / distracting.
Thank you.
The ad in question:

This is why I splurged on a Pal account.
I highly recommend it.
That's not something I can do right now. I'm more likely to just run ad blocking software, but that's something I don't want to do, as I know the site needs the ad impressions.
That ad seems to be gone though, so problem solved.
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but there's another ad that is being highly annoying:
This ad keeps rolling and unrolling itself, causing the page/text to shift around while you're reading/scrolling. Every time you navigate to a new page the ad bigifies itself, and then just when you've scrolled to where you want and started reading, it un-bigifies itself, scrolling (in effect) what you were reading away.
It's not meant to do that, you should have to click the button that says click to expand. Rush wrote an email to them earlier to ask them to fix it but as they haven't yet we've disabled it until they do as it's bloody annoying. Don't know why these agencies don't test it in all browsers before they set it to go live. It would make like a lot easier for everyone.

Well that MW3 add did it to me, got myself a PAL statusAnyway highly annoying add indeed, but been thinking of supporting the site and what better time than celebrate incoming D3 release and 15 years of incgamers.

No Problem
The issue with the banner expanding has now been fixed after a lot of screaming down the phone at the ad agency. Apologies to anyone who got this, it shouldn't happen again.
Thanks for fixing so quickly.....so pal accounts can disable ads.. intresting
