I'm afraid Diablo III won't launch in Q2

Hey,

Unfortunately I don't think Diablo III will be released in Q2. Why? Blizzard has not even announced a single detail about the new skill and runestone system. This is the biggest and most complex aspect in Diablo III. Once they do, it will hit beta servers in about a week. After that the beta testing will begin, there will be LOADS of feedback. This feedback will make sure there will be at least 6 more beta patches with 'endless' iterations. The same thing happened when they launched the beta. "Just for infrastructure". Almost 6 months and 12 beta patches later there is still no sign of a release or even a rune system.

I really, really hope I'm wrong. What do you think?

Considering this game's history, it's hard to say you're too far off with your predictions. Though you have to remember that when they revealed a lot of Jay's changes they were implemented that day in a patch, so a full week of waiting isn't entirely accurate (though that all got delayed a bit, but still, their intent was the same day). They could time the reveal/patch to be released together. For all we know, it could happen tomorrow or even next week and that would still leave a lot of time between now and Q2.

Another point is that they've been working on the new system since the Soon was Too Soon letter from Mike, and Bashiok recently tweeted that the new skill system is in and working. Considering all of that, I'm fairly optimistic.

Dont be afraid. Expect the best prepare for the worst. Dont get your expectations up. It'll be done soon enough, we are in the home stretch even if they delay it again!

Expect news within 2 weeks. Expect a game announcement for release date within 5 weeks.

If they pushed release past June, they have bigger problems going on than anything people have been predicting. Telling investors a target window and failing to deliver is never a good thing.

4 1/2 months till Q2 is over

Q2 gives me time to finish my internship, which is good lol. Anything longer than that is going to be a pain =(... Especially since most of people I know are going GW2 if D3 doesn't release "soon".
