I wonder if this isn't an optimistic calculation of hungering arrow's damage? don't you need a bunch of tightly packed monsters for this calculation to be correct?
with just 1 monster dont you just get the base 85% damage? or will hungering arrow pierce a single monster till the end of time? does the arrow have a duration? how tight is the turning radius/how good is the homing?
Hungering arrow will literally do a 180 degree turn if there's only one monster up and it rolls to pierce. No one knows if there is some kind of hard limit on how many times it can pierce, but I suspect if there is, it will be above 7 or so. That's when the expected damage starts to plateau heavily.
He means that a pierce can't be "wasted". If you just look at the skill you might think that piercing is only good if there's another mob behind it, but an arrow that pierces behaves like a guided arrow.
