    this is only meant for completely random characters. Some people wanted to have a completely random char the last few tourneys. i.e. a random character class with random weapon choices.     if you roll a completely random character for someone, you have to roll the weapon types, too. Since normally one can choose 3 rolls from 2 different weapon types, if you roll the weapons randomly, one weapon type has to be the one with 2 rolls in it (that's what Vang means by multi IIUC), the other with one roll. Again, it only matters if you roll a random character for someone else.

    It's not really an additional weapon. It's something missing in the 2010 and 2012 rules: Every character gets a random roll on their class items. Since it's Katars for Assassins, Orbs for Sorceresses and Amazon Bows/Javelins/Spears for Amazons, they practically have one more weapon at their disposal.

    Paladins will get one Paladin Shield roll and one normal shield roll. Only Barbs get a Barb helmet roll, no other character. Else you would have to roll random items for each merc and that would be even more confusing...

    They have to use them if able - if they're not able, they're not limited. Of course, this only matters for weapons, because all mercs can use all armors and helmets and shields. But if your character has Scepters and Wands, your mercs can use every weapon. At least it was that way the last 4 tournaments IIRC.

    I see, I thought if I don't have rolled spear/polearm type of weapon my act2 merc isn't allowed to use any weapon.

    You can use every merc of course. The barb and Act 3 merc have to use the same sword type as you though.

    That is a bit of suck.

    I think I'll reroll:

    Shockwave, Looks like I have a stronger showing in the elemental skills.

    Giant sword, 1H please!

    and..

    Sash, 2 slots through normal sucks. Thought about the skull cap, but with druid helms it's not so important.
