Dammit! I cannot resist this!
I would like a Paladin with 1 javelins and 2 maces rolled please.
I'm at it!
EDIT:
Brakstav's Paladin:
Forever Skills:
Salvation --> Salvation
Holy Freeze
Holy Shield
Vengeance
Normal Skills:
Smite
Vengeance --> locked
Holy Fire
Blessed Aim
Fist of Heavens
Armor:
Light Armor
Cap --> Circlet
Gothic Shield
Heavy Gloves
Plated Belt
Light Plated Boots
Targe
Weapons:
Javelin
Mace
Maul
Not too bad, I guess? Any rerolls?

No, it is rather good. I want to reroll the Cap and Salvation please. After that I will decide on whether to put Vengeance on the Forever-list.
Ok, it is not optimal, I had planned a Charger, but I will fix Vengeance. It is just too versatile not too have. Normal might be played like Frost Zealot without Zeal or something.
Thanks Grisu. Great roll.
I woke this morning with one thought in my head: Act 2 mercs can use javelins!
I had remembered this when I considered what weapon category to choose from (then favouring polearms), but forgot it when I started to weigh pros/cons later and decided on maces.
Very well, it will have to work anyway.
Yeah, if you choose a Desert Merc, he will have to use Javelins...maybe a Fire Rogue or Barb instead?
Btw - no weapon reroll, right? Although your Maul will not work with HS and Smite...but it's high damaging and thus a great weapons for Vengeance...
Mace and Javelin won't work too well with Vengeance on the other hand because of the low base damage.
and at least Salvation is a synergy to Holy FreezeMaybe you'll get Zeal and Resist Cold for NM

No, I certainly want the Maul. That was why I chose maces in the end. It is a nice Vengeance/Zeal/Charge-weapon. I will switch between a one-handed/two-handed setup depending on monsters.
The problem is the paladin's total lack of crowd control, and I had counted on a Holy Freeze merc, who could also do some damage, since I will probably be low on that part.
An assassin e.g. has: Cloak of Shadow, Mind Blast, and (to some extent) Death Sentry.
A paladin has Conversion (which is like a stupidly worse version of Mind Blast), and Smite, which needs a lot of points to be usable as crowd control at higher levels.
Anyway, we will see how this plays out; that is one of the interesting things about this tournament.
Yes, there is that. It was my number one wanted Forver-skill. Well, let's hope it pops up in Nightmare/Hell.
