So iv followed http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s...Final-Version) build to the key.
iv maxed ww/axe mastery/bo/shout/ and rest of points in iron skin.
My gear:
eth arreats
angelic ammy/rings
Grief axe/ber ss
dracs
gores
dungo's
Duress
torch
anni
15 3/10-19/10-20 sc's
So what my problem is in his thread he posts "we have 4.5k life, 5.5k ww dmg, and 25k+ def and 20-25k ar"
i am NO where near thoes numbers.
my current numbers:
1.6k pre bo 3.5k hp after bo (lvl 36 bo)
1k-1.6 ww dmg
15.5k ar
16,5k def
all AFTER bo.......so wtf did i do wrong?
HP: most bvb guides I've read tend to recommend putting enough points in strength to wear and pick up your equipment after dying in one click, not statting a bunch of strength. Also, level up. I'd try to get to level 90 at least.
Damage: You can't use the lying character screen damage numbers when you're using Grief as a weapon, you have to use a calculator or do the math yourself.
AR: Level up. Levels are important for your hp, ar with angelic's, and chance to hit.
BvB is not a cheap hobby. On nonladder I'm only surprised by a BvB's inventory or gear when they are not close to perfect. Any sort of mirror match dueling tends to get very expensive very quickly. You don't need a Ber in your storm shield unless your dungo is not 15% DR. I think most modern BvBs prefer eth upped Toothrow or Fortitude over Duress. Upgrade any of your gear to Elite that you can still wear with the strength you want. Fill out the rest of your inventory with something useful for bvb, whatever you can afford.
Edit: Also, his analysis of Duress vs Fortitude is very misleading. Open wounds only works similarly to that if you hit enough to proc open wounds and immediately run away until the duration of open wounds runs out. If you're getting hit during the time after procing open wounds, you've failed.

i under stand im low lvl but you think 5 lvls will boost my hp/ar that much?
also about the fort vs duress i have more def with duress and i only lose 200dmg from using it. unless im over looking other stats fort gives ill try it out.
as for my ss should i put a ed/res/fhr jewel?
5 levels is 120 more base AR from angelic and a statistically significant (in bvb) increase in hit chance just because of the part level difference plays in the formula. (Keep in mind most other bvbs you're dueling are very high level because of this.) It also gives you 25 more vitality * 4hp/vit * 2.3 = 230 more hp, again a statistically significant amount in a type of dueling that's very much a slave to math.
Defensewuh? Your Fortitude should give more def than your Duress before Chilling Armor procs and far more than Duress after CA procs. That 200 damage; again, you're looking at the Lying Character Screen. You're actually losing (Base weapon damage + grief runeword damage+charm damage)*2.8 damage. On a finished BvC it ends up approaching 2k damage. Your Fortitude and Duress should be in the same armor type base, particularly when you're using a build that has strength to equip any armor. If you're not using the highest-defense armor your strength allows, you're making a mistake for BvB.
ed/ar or ed/stats, you don't need resistances or faster hit recovery as a bvb.
Finish your inventory! I would probably get some ar/life small charms instead of max/ar/life. They're cheaper; you could get closer to perfects and they're pretty effective. Or Ar/max grand charms. Either way, fill up your inventory.
I'd probably respec to max vitality/str to equip gear, too.
Ah i see what you mean my def and ar have been going up slowly but surely, im also losing the psn charms for more ar/life im currently at 19k ar 22k def at lvl 89. not bad for a new to "harcore" bvb
I don't know about west but on East nonladder and ladder poison damage is viewed as BM for serious BvB. If you're just messing around in pubs I guess that's fine, though.
i only duel in pub games. where there is nasty "Bm" with the bowa/necro spamming town exit, Fc java zons, sorb smiters.
then you really shouldn't be building a BvB to take on those sorts of opponents.
a BvB is designed to duel OTHER BvBs. you can press them into service against wind druids, hammerdins, smiters, zealots, fury druids and straight WW'sins, but against most other kinds of opponents, you're essentially playing as a BvC with low life and resists and oding a lot of gear swapping.
if you want a Barb vs All kind of 'toon, build a BvC. your only truly 'impossible' duel is against a proper kitted out BvB.
as for your immediate problems, looks like you have some space in your inventory (you only list 15 SCs in your charmset) that's an awesul lot of life.
i'd also suggest getting a fortitude in a superior sacred armour (assuming you're not on West NL where a Z-Bug eth AP fort is the 'standard')
i can't for the life of me figure out why you need the Ber in the SS. between the SS and a 15% dungos, you have the max 50% DR.
here's my bvb build:
regular arreats socky with min/max jool.
SS socky with 40%ed/-15%reqs jool
15% dungos
Dracs
Z-Bug AP fort (i also carry a regular AP fort for duels against peeps without a zbug)
angelics (keep highlords +2x ravens in stash for smashing pub BvBs, hammerdins and windies)
up'd gores
GriefZ (FuryZ in stash)
motly collection of max/ar/life and ar/life scs, a 10max/40+life GC and a 5max/life LC.
20.1k AR
30k defence (drops to 24k with reg fort)
6050 life
lvl 95
as mentioned, BvBs are one of the more expensive 'toons to put together. getting to AT LEAST level 95 should be a priority. at these kinds of levels, a 4-5 level advantage makes a HUGE difference in the chance-to-hit calculations.
One problem i see is you only have 15 sc's you will need a full inventory to have the higher life you want
