Old & busted - clinging to an archaic caste system long after any relevant power is gone.
New hotness - looking down on people because you're acquainted with with someone rich.

I would be more interested in if it's a intelligent educated Snob, or an ignorant and stupid Snob.

    Both type in both locations.

Well to be honest, in political views...taken from what I remember from older days and older forums post, I agree with what Jmervyn says more often than not. Now if this somehow gets me into that "circle" of guys to punch, I do want to inform the masses that I am in fact...wearing glasses. And of course, you can hit a guy with glasses, right?
And if Bob has got the aword<< for spelling and grammer, ya'll musta made a new aword, casue mine from way back when just needs a little dusting off.
But I am interested in your classical music!

I agree with jmervyn on many everyday topics (politics excluded) and he showed me how many redneck habits I have myself .

I don't make make fun of Bobcox' spelling (if I did, I apologize), that would be silly. My English spelling is probably rather good, but my vocabulary is limited, style is often clumsy and grammar is probably more faulty tham I'm aware of.

But I am interested in your classical music!
    That's enough of a qualification!

eh, no ones punching anyone. we need frankwest and llad back. I saw frank on a Borderlands forum, but those may have been old posts. I get the feeling he wouldn't come back here for anything after the airline seat debacle.

Anyway, without real lefties, everything ends up like the ron paul thread.

Kris, don't end sentences with "of" when it's okay to end with a preposition is vague and tricky, and generally americans aren't particularly good at avoiding it, but if you truly want to be a snob, you gotta learn that one and point it out.

oh, and sometime, teach me what the hell a split infinitive is. I only can manage to carry the concept in my head for approx. 30 seconds after reading about it online, and then I'm right back to it. The problem is, it's very natural to make both mistakes because we talk this way. Still mad snob points for the one who masters these arcane rules.

For example, a split infinitive occurs in the opening sequence of the Star Trek television series: "to boldly go where no man has gone before."
Here, the adverb "boldly" splits the full infinitive "to go".

Correct would be ""to Go Boldly where no man has gone before."

    Correct is not Right.

See the public reaction for comments.

My bubble is more I do think I picked the right language in response?

I don't get the first sentence, it doesn't make sense to me. It looks as if you forgot what its beginning is about when you wrote its middle and forgot the middle when you wrote its end .

BTW, WildBerry was our approved grammar snob if I remember correctly.

I made a few corrections, but I think it's fine with an "of" at the end.

How would the correct or a better version look like, without omitting the word "aware"? You could point out that I'm generally using too many "howevers", however.

you could say that about a fair number of my posts. Undiagnosed ADD maybe? Brain thinking faster than typing? Some sort of relational mind web? Too lazy for proper punctuation? All of the above?

I'm not aware of how faulty my grammar is.
My grammar is more faulty than I'm aware. (just dropped the "of" since it's unnecessary)

This is why i can't be the snob. I just don't talk properly. Someone told me once that bad use of prepositions is a chicago thing. we overuse of, but we also overuse with and to. I don't think that's the case. plus, i don't think the Chicago accent is very pronounced anyway, we're almost as pure english as Iowans.

OK, I will wait for another opinion then . <-- snobby smiley, do you notice the arrogant expression?

The good old smileys like , etc. don't work anymore for some reason, there's only that one left which is actually smiling.
