when seeing beta footage i realized that all the "green" (=thought they were the "scaling" stats of the skills, like damage or number of xy) stats for the skills where exactly the same as on the d3 skills homepage where they are shown for lvl60 chars.
well, i do understand that they now scale with weapon damage but my question is: does any of them scale up at all? or do infact the skill stats stay the same for the whole game and are ONLY influenced by weapon damage / runes?
Skills still scale up, and those ARE the green numbers.
But since those are generally %'s now, the damage has to come from somewhere, and that's your weapon. So as your skills scale, there will be better scaling to weapon damage as you level up (depending on the skill, of course).
Nope, I'll have to check. But you can see the rough scaling when using runestones. (TBH, the scaling might be only with runestones and not tied to level specifically since each rank of runestone increases those green numbers - I think the base skill scales though... I can't remember the increase and when it happens though)
yeah but thats what i asked - are there any skills in the beta where the green numbers are different than from the skill database based on lvl60? im aware that the "passively" scale with you getting better weapons and it makes kinda sense that those %dam don't go up from eg. 140% at ch lvl 1 to 2000% at lvl 60 but do they rise at all? or do just 2ndary skill effects like the number of arrows/hits/sparks etc. slowly increase? cause i didn't saw even that. enlighten me, wise folks![]()
I kinda assumed that skills didn't scale up. If they did it would mean runestones and weapon damage would have to scale up less than before. May as well accomplish higher damage passively through higher weapon damage and certain runestones, thus the scaling is more noticeable. Everything is based on weapon damage now, and weapon damage will scale up. But I don't know if the %weapon damage on skills will or not.
Don't forget "flat values" like Diamond Skin or Breath of Heaven. Those definitely scale w/ level and runestones. There doesn't appear to be any way to boost those numbers w/ regular gear at all.
